WIAW Snow Day Edition & Fruit Bliss Snacks Review & yep… another GIVEAWAY!!!

Special thanks to Jenn for hosting another week of WIAW.  I’ve got lots to share with you today so let’s get started.

Peas and Crayons

We got hit with some massive snow over here.  I love a good snow storm, but enough it’s March.  Can we just be done with this already!!  We had a snow day and I got busy in my kitchen!!

Despite knowing that I could sleep in a bit (sleeping in to us is 6:30) I was still up and ready to go at 5:15.  After a speedy 5 miler I got cracking in the kitchen.  (Don’t worry, I showered first)

For breakfast I made a yummy Big Fat Coconut Breakfast cake that I saw over on Chocolate Covered Katie’s blog.  I topped my slice with some greek yogurt because I love greek yogurt on everything!  Everyone was pleased with the special breakfast this morning!

We had a movie morning over here and during the movie we snacked on these soft dried apricots from Fruit Bliss.

As I mentioned before this month is filled with loads of amazing surprises.  Each week, I will highlight a healthy snacking option along with a great giveaway.  Last week I featured Two Moms in the Raw.  Today, I want to tell you all about Fruit Bliss.

Fruit Bliss is a family of preservative-free, soft and moist dried fruit, perfect for on-the-go and stay-at-home snacking. Every piece is infused with a touch of moisture so that it is soft, juicy and truly irresistible! (source)

Susan sent me some amazing snacks and samples to try and we have been loving them.  The fruit is dehydrated and then packed with some water to keep the moisture.  There is NO added sugar.  The fruit is soft and sweet and Sara has been loving it.  The small to go packs have been great to pack when we are on the go.  Fruit bliss has a variety of flavors!!  Check out their website for more information!

Giveaway time!!  Fruit Bliss is going to give one lucky winner a sampler pack!  Enter below for your chance to win!  I’ll announce the winner on Monday morning!

Ok, on with the rest of our snow day!  We did some more baking pre lunch for dessert later!  I had won some NuttZo on STUFT Mama’s blog a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be good with these gluten free peanut butter cookies.  Yum, everything turned out great.  I might have snuck a cookie before lunch.  The Hubs had  4 or 5 cookies!

Lunch was a big hot bowl of my crock pot veggie soup that I made on Sunday!  It totally hit the spot.

Late afternoon snack was another amazing Cara Cara orange!  I’m going to need to go to Costco to get more of these!  We had fun playing in the snow this afternoon!  I haven’t uploaded those pictures quite yet but it we had about 9-10 inches over here.  Our biggest storm of the season.

For dinner, I was successful at replicating a yellow curry dish that we like to order at one of our favorite Thai restaurants. I made it much healthier and  it was successful!  Recipe to come next week!  I added some extra roasted veggies on the side!

That’s it!!  There is a lot going on!  The Fruit Bliss giveaway and don’t forget the Albion fitness wear giveaway and I’m not done!  I’ll have another one on Friday.  Busy busy busy!!

Have you ever tried to re-create a take out favorite??

Disclosure: I received these snacks from Fruit Bliss.   It was my decision to do this review for them and all opinions expressed are on my own.
