WIAW: Day in the Life

It’s been awhile since I have done a day in the life and WIAW post!  While our days are always super exciting they are certainly busy!!

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

5am the alarm goes off.  I almost felt “late” as typically I wake up on my own just before 5am.  I run downstairs pump for a handful of minutes and then change to get on the treadmill.

5:25am I am on the treadmill and again feel a bit rushed.  Lately, B has been waking before 6am and while we keep him in his crib until 6 I know I only have time for a short workout today.  I run 3 fast miles and decide to save the pushups, planks and stretching for the evening.

6am I am in the shower and B is still asleep!  It’s a win already!  I shower, get dressed and head downstairs to pack lunches.

6:25– It’s a freakin miracle both kids are still sleeping and for the first time in a long time I enjoy coffee and silence!

6:35- B is up!! Happy as a can be and so am I!  I nurse him and get him ready for school.  We wake up Sara around 6:50 and get her dressed.

7:15- Sara and I drop off Ben at daycare. One to two days a week I don’t take Sara to early care and so we come home while I get work down and have breakfast together! While I get some work down and a little food prep for dinner!

8:30- I take Sara to school and head to the office. I’m thankful that I have ZERO meetings today so I have a full day in the office of catching up on lesson planning, emails and paperwork!  Sounds pretty boring but I am thrilled to have the time!!!

10:30- Snack break while I pump.  I’m down to two pumping sessions at work.  Next week going to try to get to one!!  Even going from 3 sessions at work to two has been wonderful!  I had a couple of these hemp protein balls that I was enjoying during the Runners Reset.

12:00- Lunch.  I’m starving today!!  Drinking tons of water and tea but all I want to do is eat.  I have these days every now and then and I just rolls with it! Thankful for lentil soup that was in my freezer, homemade hummus and peppers.  It’s nasty, rainy and raw and I am thankful to be in my office and not running around!!  I’m slightly jealous again of the snow storm that took place again yesterday that “missed” Chicago.

2:30- Pump and consume a hard boiled egg at my desk.  Trying to really up my protein these days!  Finish up emails and touch base with a few co-workers!

4:00 Pick up the little guy from daycare and head home.  My neighbor gets Sara on Tuesday’s so it’s one less stop I need to make!  The Hubs is home when I get home and we all play!  Sara leaves to go to dinner at my parents house.  They just got back from Florida and are enjoying lots of extra time with her! So it’s just the 3 of us for dinner!

5:00- Leftover BBQ pulled chicken and roasted sweet potatoes and veggies.  Nothing fancy but great!

5:30pm Bath and bedtime for B! Which was nice because it didn’t feel rushed at all!

6:30 Ben is down and while I was putting him to bed the Hubs cleaned and “re-racked” the house as he calls it.

7:00 Sara comes home from my parents and the Hubs gets her ready for bed so I can finish up this post and get a quick plank and set of push-ups in!

7:30 Kiss Sara goodnight and head downstairs  to prep lunches for tomorrow.  Tomorrow is another day and my night entails Chicago Med and tea time!

    Carrot orange smoothie sounds fantastic! Oranges are one of my go-tos to keep sugar cravings at bay.
