WIAW: Cleaning up After the Holidays!

Happy Wednesday!

Another week is about 1/2 way over!  Let the days keep on rolling!  I’m linking up for the WIAW party!  After eating, drinking and eating more over the holidays I have been a bit more focused on keeping the diet cleaner.  My tummy, head and body needs a break from sugar.

To start I had a great workout yesterday.  I’ve been using the free version of this app called FitStar for a couple of weeks.  It breaks up the treadmill runs and I love that the workouts come with videos.  Plus they aren’t that long.  So I did an chest, arms and shoulder workout and then ran 2 1/2 miles.

I prepped my  breakfast the night before!  Pumpkin chia pudding!!!

1/2 cup of homemade almond milk

1/2 cup of pumpkin

dash or so of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon

1 1/2 tablespoons of chia seeds!– shake and DONE.

Um guess who wanted in on my breakfast….

IMG_5977He enjoyed a few tastes and no surprise since he eats pumpkin pretty much every day… just like his mama!

Having my breakfast prepped the night before is so helpful during our crazy mornings!

After getting the kids to school and getting to work I snacked on an apple at my desk.

IMG_2426.JPGFast forward to the afternoon and lunchtime.  I had meetings and observations out of the office all afternoon and enjoyed some of my favorite soup.

IMG_5980Oh She Glows 10 Spice Cashew Cream Soup!!  One of my favorite recipes from her cookbook! I made it Sunday night for dinner and will be having it every day for lunch this week.  Even the meat loving Hubs really likes this soup and finds it filling enough for a meal!

I also had hummus, peppers and Mary’s Crackers!

The afternoon went fast and before I knew it I was running to get the kids and get home!  I picked up the little man before 4 and got him home to play!  Sara and I had a dinner out with friends!  It’s always SUCH a treat to be away from the kitchen for a night.  The Hubs gave the little man his dinner and Sara and I had girl time!

We went to Big Bowl!  One of my favorite places because I am in love with their stir fy veggie bar!  I should have really taken a picture of how well I can cram and stack the veggies up in my bowl before the dish is made.  My friend tells me that I have some skills when it comes to veggie piling but this was the final product!

A whole plate of yellow coconut curry veggies over brown rice and I always finish!  This running and nursing mama has no problem finishing up every meal!  No shame here.

After dinner it was back home to finally get into my PJ’s.  Typically, I am in my sweats by 4:15 so by 7 I was ready!  The Hubs and I got Sara to bed, I worked on this post and had my nightly tea before settling into to watch Chicago Med.. my new favorite Tuesday night show!

What did you do and eat yesterday?  Are you finding the need to clean up a bit after holiday eating?

I love Mary’s gone crackers, and that soup sounds stupendous. Angela’s site is one of my favorites. And we are pretty much done with holiday eats until Christmas. Of course, the baking has only just begun. 🙂 Thankful for this WONDERFUL time of year!
