WIAW and Vega Sport Giveaway

Happy soon to be 4th of July everyone!  Today is pretty much my Friday at work!  I’m looking forward to the long weekend and warmer temps!  We’re in a cool streak here in Chicago and yesterday the high was 67 and cloudy!  Certainly felt more like May 2nd and not July 2nd but the heat will return!

Let’s get started because it’s another week of WIAW and I have Vega giveaway as well!

What I Ate Wednesday: Fun Food & Fitness

I woke up just around 5:30 and got ready for a run!  My plan was for 6 miles!  Vega Sport sent me their new energizer drink to try out!  It comes in two flavors:  lemon lime and acai berry!  I tried the lemon lime last week and didn’t love it!  I generally don’t like lemon lime but I contacted my friend over at Vega and she sent me the acai berry and I enjoyed it a lot more!

So I slammed a quick glass of that before my run and off I went!  It was a great run with the cooler temps and humidity down!  No complaints and I paced around 7:18!

Image copy 2I had a brunch date with an old friend at 10am but I knew that I needed something before brunch so I had my last Picky Bar 🙁

Brunch was great and we spent awhile catching up on life!  I had an egg white omelete with veggies, fruit and avocado!  Delish!  I was stuffed!

Headed for a quick pedicure because my toes are just not pretty!  Then again, when you run it’s expected!

After the pedicure I had a work meeting and then ran home to change to train a client!  Prior to his arrival I quickly had an apple and PB2 mixed with chia seeds!

Dinner was another veggie burger that I bought at the farmers market over a bed of roasted brussels and kale and topped with salsa!  These veggie burgers are so good!  I have a feeling I am going to become fast friends with this guy at my farmers market this summer!

We got Sara to bed and then sat down for more Dexter!  Almost done with season 1!!  I enjoyed this while we were watching it!

    I drink a cup of coffee and have my breakfast before I head out for a run. Once in a while I will do a gel before I leave.

    I currently don’t take anything before a morning workout besides my morning coffee and a small breakfast, but I would like to try and see if it improves my performance 🙂

  6. That egg white omelet looks delish! When I travel for work and stay at hotels with an omelet station, I always get egg whites and stuff with spinach, mushrooms, red peppers, jalapeno peppers, and cheese. If I got a good workout in prior, I’ll indulge with a little bit of bacon. YUM! Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!

  26. Depending on the workout, I usually don’t eat anything. If it’s a long run, yes but usually if it’s less than 60 minutes, nothing.

    Oops I forgot to say what I usually do before a workout. I usually have a bowl of cereal or toast with peanut butter and my morning coffee about an hour before my workout so I don’t feel sick during a workout.

    In the mornings I run on an empty stomach. In the afternoons/evenings I usually eat a Huma gel or an apple.

  43. I usually just take BCAA supplements with water, and sometimes half a banana or a date if I am strength training or doing a longer run!

    Usually a health bar. I receive the monthly Kona case (tks to you) and have been experimenting with the various “goodies” like a Kind bar or the Chia fruit squeezies. Be it workout or rest – feed your body to fuel your body accordingly.

    I do Ryno Power supplements…usually do Carbo Fuel mixed with OJ & some Motivation & Endurance pills. Before a long run, I may eat a Braaap energy bar.
