Weekends are for playing!!

Well we FINALLY had some amazing and MARVELOUS weather here this weekend and we really took advantage of it.  Nothing makes me happier then sunshine, warmth, and time together.

We did it all this weekend.  We grilled, planted the garden, played  in the sprinkler, and just enjoyed!

IMG_3246.JPGAfter a cold and harsh winter, I think B is a fan of the sun and warmth!

The Hubs did an awesome job with our vegetable garden!

IMG_3250.JPGI had to remember that less is MORE with our garden as we have learned over the years that too much planting leads to over growth and a poor end result. This year we did tomatoes, kale and green beans.  I’ve never done beans before but Sara loves them so I figured why not. We also did herbs in our planters.  I wanted to plant zucchini but they didn’t have them in at the garden store!

Have you planted your garden yet?  We always aim to get it in the ground by Mother’s Day.  I’m so glad the weather cooperated.

The weather also cooperated for a fantastic run this weekend!

IMG_3242.JPGI’m glad I opted not to sign up for the 10K this weekend as I ran 7 miles on my own!  I feel like my strength is coming back with my running but I still need to get my core strength back.

Oh, and as I mentioned on Saturday I stepped it up with my sprializer and check out my new toy!!

Hello zoodles galore and boy did it make doing some lunch prep yesterday a whole lot easier!!  So excited!!

So it’s a full week of work for me.  My first full week since before B came and hopefully all will go well.  I did extra dinner prep last night and extra cooking to make dinners a little easier and my lunches are prepped for the next few days!

How was your weekend?  Did you get outside and enjoy the nice weather?  What’s your favorite thing to do when it’s warm out?

  1. We were thinking about a garden this summer (only the 2nd one in this house) but with the new baby and lots of travel planned for this summer, we decided to wait until next summer.

Congrats on running 7 miles this weekend. It sounds like you are well on your way. I’m so jealous. Good luck with your return to a full week of work!

  2. Yay to the run! You look so happy!!!!

My husband is planting our garden too. It’s a little late this year, what with the cold spring and all.
