V-day recap and one step closer in my personal trainer journey

Hope you guys had great Valentine’s Day!  I had a fantastic day which began with an awesome run and a full day of activities with Sara.  We bounced around from dance class to a school party and had a blast!

Sara got a taste of her first chocolate rose!

The Hubs and I had a great dinner out and I kept the phone at home, but managed to steel his away to take a snap shot of dessert that we shared!  Clearly, that was the most important part!

Hello, homemade key lime pie! AMAZING and worth every bite!

Hello, homemade key lime pie! AMAZING and worth every bite!

I haven’t talked much about becoming a personal trainer since I got the official confirmation from ISSA. I recently updated my personal trainer page on my blog and have been doing a little work and research.  This week, I obtained liability insurance and also signed on with  Right Fit Chicago.  The owner of Right Fit contacted me last week about setting up a profile.  Basically, Right Fit Chicago is like a match.com for personal trainers.  Additionally, I’ve located an amazing studio in my neighborhood which houses personal trainers.  For just a small fee, I can pay per session and use their 8000 square foot state of the art facility to train clients.  I’m psyched and so excited to be moving forward.

So what’s next? Well, I am working right now on building up my client base. In addition to being a personal trainer I am hoping to combine my two passions and train individuals with special needs. I talk more about my background and philosophy here.  I’m so excited to be moving forward in this journey and I am looking forward to sharing it with all of you.  Any tips and advice would be great!

It’s a wonderful feeling when you set a goal and reach it!  It’s just like crossing the finish line.  I’m nowhere near the finish line of this race, but I’m pacing nicely and moving right along.

Do you have any goals set?  How do you plan to reach them?

So happy, the weekend is right around the corner. I’m looking forward to a little brunch date with some sorority sisters!  Love and miss going out for brunch!  I’m hoping to crank out 6 miles tomorrow on the treadmill beforehand.  I’m working on building my distance back up in preparation for some spring races!

Also, don’t forget about the AMAZING Healthy Surprise Giveaway!  Enter here!

Have a great day!

  3. Congrats, Laura! Sounds like some great steps forward, especially the facility! What a great find. I’ve been working on a health coach certificate this year, and just passed my running coach (RRCA) exam. So I’m at a similar point as you- trying to figure out how to piece this together, building a client base, etc. It’s exciting!
