Unexpected Weekend Disruption, Return of Move It Monday, Winners and MORE

Happy Monday!

I had grand plans of cooking, working out and playing this weekend!  The weekend wasn’t a total wash but it did take an unplanned and unexpected turn.

We had a play date on Friday night and I made dinner!  Dessert was a highlight!  Recipe to come this week!

All was fine when I went to bed and then I woke up a midnight with a terrible pain behind my right eye.  I knew what was happening.  By 1am I was swollen and teary.  It was the dreaded return of pink eye.  I barely slept since I was so uncomfortable!  At one point I googled home remedies for pink eye and found out that the best home remedy is actually breast milk.  Well that wasn’t an option!  Next on the list was raw goat milk.  Nope that wasn’t helping either.  I tried cold and warm compress and both provided some relief.  By morning I woke up swollen and uncomfortable.  5 months ago an urgent care center opened up down the street and I walked right in at 8am.  By 9am drops in my eye and I was on the road to recovery!

We didn’t do much on Saturday except Costco and Whole Foods!  I also made dinner on Saturday night and we stayed in!  It was gross out and a chill day and evening really wasn’t so bad!

Especially since I got to roast up another kabocha!

Sunday was football Sunday and I was on the mend and we had friends over!  Chili for all! The weather was AGAIN gross and windy! The threats of a tornado did not stop up from our yummy eats!

Roasted red pepper hummus and veggies, coconut flour pumpkin bars and veggie quinoa chili.  My friend also brought pumpkin mac and cheese!  Delish day full of eats!

It’s been MONTHS since I have done a Move it Monday workout and while I can’t promise I will come up with something each week I did want to share this one with you.

MoveItMondayFinal

I’ve been aiming for working out 6-7 days a week.  Friday is usually my active rest kind of day where I don’t run but do something!  I did this workout Friday morning.

10-10If you wanted to extend the workout you could run a mile do the 10 minutes and run another mile!  Or run a few miles!

Since my eye was better by Sunday morning I was able to get a great treadmill run in.  I ran an even 10k and it wasn’t to hard to keep my glasses on since I can’t wear my contacts again till Thursday!

What did you do this weekend?  Eat, play, workout?

Let’s get to WINNERS!

The Diamond Candle winner is KIM GRIFFIN TURNER

The Bob’s Red Mill Winner is #198 Karen Goodwin Delaney!

Congrats ladies!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new recipe!  I’ve got lots to share with you this week!
