A weekend of summer fun and the start of an emotional week!

Happy Monday!  I’m linking up with Katie over at Healthy Diva Eats for another recap of our marvelous, wonderful and simply amazing weekend!!

Even though Labor Day is next weekend and summer really doesn’t until under September 20th, this was really like our final “summer” weekend.  We did so much and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest and now we begin a week of true “firsts” and milestones and probably a whole lot of tears from this mama!

We celebrated the Hubs birthday all weekend long… why not!?!  When it’s your birthday you should be able to eat cake and ice-cream not just once but…..

Saturday night the Hubs and I are enjoyed a night out seeing Train and the Wallflowers in concert!  They were amazing!  Such a great night out to celebrate the big birthday!IMG_1177.JPG

Side note…. I didn’t wear that hat out Saturday night.  It was put on me for the picture.. but I have been thinking about maybe sporting the cowboy hat look in the future.  What do you think!??!!

We had great seats and sang out hearts out for both bands!  It was at an outdoor concert venue and despite some crazy Saturday afternoon storms it turned out to be a beautiful night!

Sunday, we headed out early for a day of boating, swimming, playing, and relaxing in Wisconsin.  It was truly the most spectacular way to cap off the final weekend before both the Hubs and Sara start school!

IMG_1186-0This morning we have kindergarten orientation and the back to school kickoff.  It’s brief and then tomorrow is the full day!  We get to attend with Sara so I don’t think it’s hitting me to hard yet on what’s really happening.

Sara is so excited and I know she will do great but I’m certain to be a nervous wreck all day Tuesday!  Any moms out there do the kindergarten transition?  How did it go for YOU?  We are lucky that we live walking distance from the school so I am hoping to walk Sara as much as possible this week.

Of course it would make sense that after a somewhat cool summer, that we would be starting the school year in a heat wave.  Luckily, the schools have air conditioning and I don’t have to worry about Sara melting when the heat index reaches above 100 this week!

So… after talking about kindergarden for months it’s about here!!  Ready or not…. here we go!
