Yippee for the weekend! Two posts in one day?? I know crazy right? However, I’m out of here super early tomorrow morning and I wanted to get another awesome giveaway before I took off! I am really looking forward to a few days of fun, snuggles and great weather!! I’m not planning to post much while away but you I’m sure I’ll be on Instagram! So you can follow me there! Before we get to the giveaway let me tell you about my run today!
11 windy but wonderful miles!!! The best was that the water fountains were FINALLY back on!! It totally made my day!!
After a couple of meetings, errands and other things I got a pedicure. It almost didn’t happen because after my run I lost a toenail. Actually it was a lose and I just took it off. I really shouldn’t have done that! I’m sparing you from those pictures. My feet are kind of sad. However, everything is better with a minion band aid… right?? I bought the polish so as soon as my skin heals I can slap some polish right on there and things will look a bit better. Anyone else have toe problems?
Anyways… enough about my sad feet… let’s move onto the giveaway!
As we close out April and move into May (yippee!!!) it’s time to bring you another giveaway from Salba Smart!
April is Build a Super Smoothie Month and if you know me then you know that this is pretty simple!! I drink smoothie at least for days a week!!
Smoothies are great for so many reasons: they’re easy to make, a quick breakfast on-the-go, and they make it easy to add greens, fruits and veggies all in one meal. Plus, it’s just about the simplest way to add Salba Chia nutrition! Because chia seeds are so tiny, they’re easy to mix right in. As swimsuit season quickly approaches, there’s no better time to start making super smoothies!
One thing I am not good at when it comes to my smoothies is measuring my ingredients. I am really just a dump and blend kind of girl. Over the years I have found some great ingredients that make smoothies extra tasty and pack a nutritional punch!
Some of my favorite add ins include:
Coconut Oil or Coconut Butter
Salba Chia (of course!!)
Frozen almond milk ice cubes for extra creaminess
Frozen banana instead of fresh for added creaminess
Cooked Quinoa or rolled Oats
Unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1 large handful of Earthbound Spinach or Mixed Greens
- ½ frozen banana
- ½ cup of pineapple
- ¼ cup of cucumber
- ½ inch to 1 inch of fresh ginger (use more or less depending on you feel about ginger)
- ¾- 1 cup of milk ( I use homemade milk that is naturally sweetened with dates and cinnamon) Coconut milk would be great too!
- 1-2 handfuls of ice
- 1 tablespoon of Salba Chia seeds
- Blend all ingredients in your high speed blender and serve in a glass. Garnish with ground cinnamon, coconut or granola!
Here’s a little more information on Salba Chia:
- 325% more fiber than oatmeal
- 800% more Omega-3 (ALA) than salmon
- 30% more antioxidants than blueberries
- 1500% more magnesium than broccoli
- 200% more potassium than bananas
