Here we go folks!! It’s the October coffee date. Seriously, it seems like it was just July but fall is here and so is my birthday (Saturday)! So, grab some coffee and perhaps a slice of cake and let’s catch up! Thanks to Coco @ Got 2 Run 4 Me, Lynda @ Fitness Mom Wine Country, & Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother for hosting the party!
The actual coffee date isn’t until tomorrow but I have a hard time getting it together on Saturday mornings. On an unrelated note, you know what’s fun about your birthday… getting free stuff!! In a period of 15 minutes yesterday, I got emails for free ice cream, dinners, Starbucks and coupons for some of my favorite places. Anyways….
Let’s get right to it!
If we were having coffee I would tell you that I do believe that summer temps are long gone. It’s time to pack up the summer gear and bathing suits and bring out the coats and hats. Good thing this little guy is down with it.
B is also on the move BIG TIME. I have a feeling that we are in for some seriously trouble with this little dude. He’s into everything!! I can’t look away for one second!! He’s ALL BOY for sure!
If we were having coffee I would tell you that October is my favorite running month! Assuming it’s not windy or raining! My monthly mileage starts to take a hit in the fall months but as long as I can get outside at least once a week I am happy! Gone are the humid temps and hello fresh crisp air. Do you have a favorite running season?
If we were having coffee I would you tell you that now that summer has ended fall TV has started. While I don’t have a ton of time to catch up on TV, I am loving the Blindspot and Fear the Walking Dead! Is anyone else into new fall shows?
If were having coffee I would tell you that I had the BEST dinner last night and I prepped it while B napped!!! It was this pumpkin chickpea red lentil curry! I’m gearing up for crockpot dishes and soup season!! Who is with me?
If we were having coffee I would tell you that it’s been over a full month of our new “normal” the mornings are rushed and the afternoon/early evenings are even more rushed. Dinners are quick, fast and simple and Sundays are spent doing what I can to make it through the week. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t exhausted just trying to get it all done. Then there are days when the 5am workout gets done and we all get out the door with tasty and healthy lunches by 7:30, I drop off the kids at two different places and I get to my office before 8am. On those days I feel like “super mom.” That is, SUPER MOM who is in bed before 9pm so that I have the energy to do it all over again the next day!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that turning 35 means entering a new age bracket in the racing world. When I turned 30 I ran my second Chicago Marathon and one day in the future I hope to run my third… when the time allows. In the meantime, I have my eye on some possible Turkey Trots, which I have never done before because I always fear the weather. I’d like to get one more race on the calendar before I develop my love/hate relationship with my treadmill. Though we are spending more and more time together during the week. Do any of my local friends have some races planned in the coming months? I have a race itch that I need to scratch!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I love Friday’s and love the weekends!! Our weekends are a whole different kind of busy but I still love them!! I can’t wait for a fun filled weekend with these two kids and I’m looking forward to celebrating my birthday all weekend long!!! 34 was an amazing year filled with SO many gifts and I’m pretty sure 35 is going to be pretty spectacular too!
Tell me what is going on with you??
