My runs were #poweredbybits: ENERGYbits Review and Giveaway

About a month ago I was contacted by my friend Jonathan over at ENERGYbits and he asked me to check out their ENERGYbits.  For those of you who know me, you know I don’t take any supplements besides my daily vitamin.  I’m a firm believer that to be in good health you need to eat well and exercise.  There are no shakes, potions, pills, powders or fad diets that will give you long-term results.

ENERGYbits® algae tabs are your answer for raw energy and health. All naturally too. With just one calorie per tab, ENERGYbits® will stop your cravings, slay your hunger and give you a steady stream of energy all day or night. They may even make you want to leap over tall buildings in a single bound, but we think that’s best left to the guys in the red capes and blue tights.  Remarkably, our ENERGYbits® have just one ingredient, spirulina algae which is a super hero in the world of super foods. ENERGYbits are best used for:

  • Increasing Energy
  • Increasing Endurance
  • Increasing Mental Vitality
  • High Protein Snack
  • Curbing Hunger
  • Meal Replacement
  • Balancing Blood Sugar
  • Lowering Blood Pressure
  • Reducing Fatigue

I spent some time talking to others and doing some research about spirulina algae and here is what I found.  Spirulina alga or blue – green algae are commonly found in marine or saltwater. Unlike other algae, the spirulina alga has a spiral shape that is similar to cyanobacteria. According to, the blue-green algae are used as a source of dietary protein, B-vitamins, and iron. They are also used for weight loss, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), hayfever, diabetes, stress, fatigue, anxiety, depression, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and other women’s health issues. Spirulina is part of a plant-based food diet.  It’s natural and can be considered part of whole food diet. If you are unsure, like I was, do some research.  I find that reading up on things and talking to others, always helps me make informed decisions.

So, when I first opened my package of bits of was mortified with the smell.  There was NO way I was going to chew the recommended does of 30 of these suckers!  It smelled like a fishy pond!  Plus, 30 seemed like a ton!  So, I swallowed 15 of them.  I’m nowhere near the height and size of your standard athelete, so I figured cutting the dose it 1/2 would be good and a good test run for me.

So, how did I feel?  Well, I felt pretty darn AMAZING.  I paced 5 miles at just over 8 minutes a mile.  I was alert and at the end of the run I felt incredible!  I’ve used the bits a few more times and each time I have felt amazing.  On my weekend long run I swallowed 20 of them and felt fantastic for 8 blissful miles!  I think 20 might be my magic number. I’m not sure if it’s the placebo effect or that ENERGYbits are working, but I am definitely going to try more. Who are ENERGYbits for? Want to try a sample pack and see what you think? I’d love to hear your feedback.  The folks over at ENERGYbits want you to try them as well!  Enter below for your chance to win! a Rafflecopter giveaway I’m still looking for my Fruit Bliss and Albion Fit Winners.  If no one claims by Thursday, I will draw new names.

Also, don’t forget about the massive Spring into Fitness group giveaway going on here!  Oh, stop back tomorrow for another special edition of WIAW with another healthy snack giveaway!

Disclosure: I received these bits from ENERGYbits.   It was my decision to do this review for them and all opinions expressed are on my own.

Women with PMS do not experience completely different symptoms each cycle, such as anxiety with one cycle, depression the next, anger in the following cycle, and so forth. Each woman with PMS has her own personal pattern of symptoms. While one woman might be anxious and tense, another woman might experience PMS as causing her to be depressed and tearful for two days each cycle, and another woman might find that she is easily irritated by problems that she normally considers minor.-..”
