Another weekend for the books! This one flew by and now begins another busy week for us. I’m all signed up for my first 1/2 marathon of the season!! Yeah, I convinced my friend Debbie over at Healthy Running Mom to take a little road trip with me to Springfield, Illinois for some racing run!! 13.1 is my favorite distance! You know the saying, 1/2 the distance of a marathon and twice the fun! I’m so excited. Now, the snow just needs to melt and the temps need to rise a bit so I can start running outside again. I’m not sure how many more long runs I can do on the treadmill.
Todays “Move it Monday”workout is an at home boot camp! Do this inside if it’s cold or take it your backyard or a park if it’s warm. Speaking of warmth, only 23 more days till spring starts! Boot camp is all about moving fast and using your body as a method of resistance. Put away your weights, bands and stability balls for this one! All you need it your body! By stringing together exercises such as jumping jacks, squats, and pushups with little to no rest, you are getting your heart rate up and burning calories well beyond the workout! These moves target your entire body making this workout a full body workout in just 30 minutes!! Ready, Set, Go!!
Want to modify this one? Do 30 seconds on 30 seconds rest or 40 seconds on 20 rest. You get the picture. Make a goal and work up to 50 seconds! Do what works for you.
