Empower 3-in-1 Kettlebell + Workout

Is it Monday already?  This weekend really flew by!  We were busy running around, seeing plays and having loads of playtime!  I also got a 5 mile treadmill run in and had an amazing Sunday Bikram session!  I love sweating it all out for 90 minutes on Sunday mornings. It’s such a great way to start my day.

Check out my very own handy helper.  Sara decided she wanted to fix the appliances in our house.  Lucky for us she decided to charge us $7 to fix the oven!


A few weeks ago the wonderful folks at Empower Fitness sent me their 3-in-1 Kettlebell to try out! I’ve been busy doing the workouts that it came with on the DVD and creating some of my own?  If you don’t own a kettlebell or have never used one, I highly recommend purchasing this one.  The 3-in-1 has 3 levels and 3 weights.  The kettlebell can be 5lbs, 8lbs or 12lbs. It’s very easy to adjust and takes just a few seconds.


Kettlebells are typically pricey, which is why I have never purchased them.  When I do Kettlebell workouts, I also use various weights depending on what part of my body I am using.  The flexibility of the 3-in-1 is perfect because it takes up just a tiny amount of space and can be used for all different fitness levels.  You can start with the 5lb and then as you become stronger add more weight.  This is much more economical then purchasing various kettlebell sizes which typically run in price from $10-$30 depending on your weight. The prices increase as the weight increases.

What I liked

1) The quality of the weight

2) The size and the small amount of space it takes up

3) The flexibility in using various weights.  It takes only a matter of seconds to adjust the weights!

What I didn’t like

1) The DVD that came along with it.  I wasn’t a fan of the woman leading the exercises.  For some reason she annoyed me a bit.  The DVD seemed to be geared towards an older crowd

2) I would have liked the weight to have been able to increase to 15lbs.  Perhaps, eliminating the 5lb lbs and having  8lbs, 12lbs and 15lbs.


Overall this is an excellent addition to our home gym!  I am planning on using when I am doing HIIT and other circuts.  This brings me to this weeks

  3. I love kettleball workouts! I would be nervous that this kettleball would break apart mid-workout and would end up going through a wall or a window. Does it seem pretty stable?
