Currently…. Round 2!

Hard to believe the month is coming to a close!  It’s time for another month of Currently… I did this last month so I thought I would do it again!

Reading: Not reading anything at the moment but looking for suggestions for our big trip to Spain and Italy in July!!  Reading right now is consisting of blogs, magazines and the grocery ads!  (Hah, I’m always looking for the best deal)

Running: Loving every minute of my runs.  Though it’s starting to get hot and humid!  I’m not complaining though!  Half Marathon #2 of the season is this Sunday!  I can’t wait!  I don’t have any races on the calendar for the rest of June or July!  I need to work on that!!

Non-Running Workout: I’m all about my classes at The Dailey Method!!  No surprise there.  I’ve been at it for over 4 months!  The change is remarkable!  I feel stronger, leaner and my core is in the best shape it’s ever been in!  It’s been the greatest challenge!

Excitement: Summer 2014 is just days away!  Seriously, every day gets more and more exciting around this house!!

Garden Item: The garden is growing!!  Herbs are in full bloom and my kale is doing amazing!!  I love going to the garden when I am cooking to get fresh basil and more!  Our CSA starts in a couple of weeks and next month the farmers markets open!!  All great signs of good food to come!

TV: We are watching 24 and that’s about it right now.   Looking for something to get into this summer.  I’m thinking about subscribing to Net Flix so we can watch House of Cards!  I hear it’s amazing!  Last summer we watched all of Dexter!

Kitchen Gadget:  I’ve been back loving my zucchini noodler a ton during The 30 Clean Challenge!  Zucchini noodles are the best!  Even the hubs enjoys them!!  Who needs pasta when you can eat ZOODLES!

Not-So-Healthy-Indulgence:  Zip, Nada, NOTHING! I’m happy to say that this body has been clean for 24 days!!  No sugar, no grains, no dairy!  NO CHEATS!!  My body is filled with lots of healthy goodness!

Healthy Indulgence:  I recently discovered that adding coconut butter to my coffee in the morning and tea at night is amazing!  I like both my tea and coffee with homemade almond milk. The addition of about a teaspoon of coconut butter is TO DIE FOR!  YUMMY! See ya Starbucks!

Besides my newest obsession and indulgence is Gingerade Kombucha!

Pet Peeve: I’ve gotten the occasional, “why are you doing this?”  or “why won’t you eat THAT?”  from people in regards to this challenge.  I let it roll because I remember how amazing I feel! I’ve never been one to do a food challenge and never really thought I could do all this but this is by far the most manageable food challenge I’ve ever done!

Mood: Happy and Excited about this time of year and what’s to come but also emotional!  It’s pre-school graduation week for Sara.  I know it sounds so silly but I’ve gotten a bit emotional quite a few times.  I know Friday night will bring lots of tears.  She’ll wrap up two fantastic years at her school in about a week and half and then it’s onto camp!

YOUR TURN!   Pick something in this post and tell me about you!

The “zoodles” have had me intrigued for so long! I’ve always wanted to try them. I have to admit, though, I’ve seen the kombucha at Krogers a few times and my husband and I were both immediately turned off because of (what we think are) the seeds floating in it… so we haven’t tried it.

Hey! Just started reading The fault in our stars. Can’t put it down! Supposedly going to make me cry but it’s great so far. Check it out. Talk soon?

  3. Zoodles are my favorite too love them!

  4. I just read somewhere about coconut oil in coffee, so funny. I haven’t yet tried it though. I like a bit of sweetness, so I’m unsure if it would do it for me.
I”ve been drinking that Kombucha also, love the ginger as well.
I’ve been researching making my own b/c it’s so darn expensive to purchase, but not sure if it’d be a fad, so I’m not doing it just yet.

I actually use coconut butter! It’s amazing! tastes SOOO good! I looked into researching and it’s way too time intensive so I am just splurging and not doing Starbucks!

So exciting that you have your big trip coming up!!!
I would be annoyed with people questioning my eating, too – I’ve never understood why some people feel entitled to express their negative opinions on what others eat – why does it matter?!

  10. We just finished season 2 of House of Cards. WOW. Neal is now watching Sopranos on Amazon Prime. I was too disturbed by the first three episodes.

I have lots of good book suggestions for your trip.

Good luck in North Shore. I am doing 13.1 instead b/c I got a free entry. I am glad I did b/c I have a HUGE blister on my heal from a plantar wart removal and a 1/2 could have been an issue for me this weekend!
