Coffee Talk… Tea… and how about some CAKE!

Happy Friday everyone

Whoops… I didn’t mean to disappear all week but life got busy! I’m linking up a day early with one of my favorite bloggers Jill for some coffee… or in my case right now some tea!

Care to join me on this Friday morning?!

Oh and while we are at it how about a piece of cake!?!  I’m celebrating my 34th birthday today.  Not really a big birthday but we all deserve some cake right?!!  So have some cake on me!

If we were having coffee right now I would tell you how excited I am that October is here!  Sure summer was great (well except for me feeling incredibly sick all summer long… ) but I love fall and so far we are real experiencing an awesome fall. I love the fall festivals, pumpkins to decorate and pumpkin STUFF to eat and drink!  It’s so yummy!

If we were having coffee right now I would tell you that I am so excited because my friend and I are heading to Austin, Texas in two weeks for a girls weekend!  I’ve never been… neither of us have and can’t wait!  Has anyone ever been?  I’d love to hear some “must do” or “must see” and of course, “must eat.”

If we were having coffee right now I’d tell you that I had my 20 week scan this week.  I was a little nervous because it was right around 20 weeks that Sara started to measure a little small.  Actually, it was her femur bone that was small.  My OB didn’t tell me at the time because she didn’t want to worry me.  Since my husband and I aren’t the tallest of people it’s possible that we just would have a small baby.  Nevertheless, this week at 20 1/2 weeks I was thrilled to find out that all measurements femur included were actually measuring ahead of schedule.  The doctor used the term big, tall and long when describing the baby!  YEAH!  Huge relief.  I’ll have another scan at 26 weeks to check on the growth but so far all  is looking great!

If we were having coffee right now I would tell you that I am excited for a couple weekends of celebrations!  The Hubs and I are headed to dinner tonight at a new local restaurant and next weekend we are headed into the city to an Italian restaurant that I was at a few years ago and loved.  Actually, yesterday morning on the news they showed that the President made a stop at the restaurant that we are going to on Wednesday night.  I guess if it’s good enough for the President it’s good enough for us 🙂

If we were having coffee right now  I would tell you that on my birthday I am feeling very reflective about how wonderful the upcoming year is going to be.  SO much to look forward to and so much to be thankful for!!  At the same time I am so grateful for what this year has brought and all that it has taught me!  It’s still so mind blowing me everything that is happening!  If there is one that I have learned it’s that the body is capable of so much.  Of course this little lady make it all worth while!  Enjoy the weekend!

So what do you have to share?

“If we were having coffee today” I would tell you that 34 years ago today was one of the BEST days of my life. Happy, Happy Birthday.

  6. Wow, I’ve missed a lot since blogging took a backseat to new baby 6 weeks ago. Congratulations on your pregnancy! We had the same scare with LO’s femur measuring small towards the end of the pregnancy. She came out just fine; yeah, her upper legs are a tad shorter than her lower legs, but she’s perfectly healthy. I hate how they scare you with some of that stuff! So happy your baby’s looking so good! Enjoy your birthday festivities!

    Happy superrrr-belated birthday!

I keep trying to find ways to reroute my transfer flights through Austin so I can visit my friend there, but alas, none of em’ go there. I hear there’s a lot of good food to be had there though! I hope you had/are having fun! :]
