Coffee Date: September #UltimateCoffeeDate

In light of the busy weekend that is about to start, I am doing my favorite monthly post a day early!  So even though it’s Friday take a minute, grab a cup of coffee and let’s catch up!

I’m linking up once again with  Coco @ Got 2 Run 4 MeLynda @ Fitness Mom Wine Country, & Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother

If we were having  coffee I would tell you that the Hubs leaves before the sun rises tomorrow morning for the long weekend and won’t be back until very late Tuesday night.  I’m a little nervous about keeping both kids happy all weekend especially since it’s going to be too hot for B to be outside!!  I’m hoping WE ALL make it through the long weekend!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my 4-6 mile morning runs have come to a close as my morning workouts are on my treadmill and I’m lucky to get in 4 miles before I need get in the shower and get the day rolling.  I’m up around 5am and pump quickly before getting on the treadmill by 5:15-5:30.  My goal during the week is to be in the shower by 6am!  Slow summer mornings are HISTORY.  So sad! I did get out yesterday morning for a quick 3 1/2 miler!  I have to watch out for skunks!!  I loved seeing the moon and the sunrise all in one run!  Sadly it’s so dark in the morning, I know that I won’t be able to do this much longer.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my garden is done for the season.  Another sad memory that summer is coming to an end!  Farmers markets are still in swing until the middle or end of October so at least I still have that to look forward!

We had a great garden this summer with kale, tomatoes and TONS AND TONS of green beans!

If we were having coffee I would tell you that my 30 Clean week has been going great!  Day 5 and while I know I won’t be able to do the full 30 days it just feels great to be putting all healthy foods back into my body.  I have an amazing friend who is texting and checking up on me daily!  The accountability really helps. She even picked up a few things from the store for me yesterday since I didn’t have a second to get there to make myself a healthy clean lunch!!

I’ll be honest that it’s a ton of work and hard to manage with the crazy schedules we have and the other things going on!  With the Hubs gone this weekend I am not quite sure how much food prep will take place.  I do want to make this recipe that was posted on their Facebook page!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I FINALLY signed up for my first race post B I saw signs for this race when I was running last weekend and I thought WHY NOT!  It’s right in my community.  A simple local 10k and HOPEFULLY the temps will cool by next Sunday .

If we were having coffee I would tell that we had a cranial checkup for B yesterday and it looks like we are reaching the very end of his helmet wearing days!!  It’s possible that he could be done in 2 weeks!  Woo hoo! Looking forward to seeing more of this smiley happy boy like this!

IMG_4586That’s all I got for you today!!  Cheers to the long weekend and the unofficial end of summer!!

  1. I am still in denial that summer is almost over! How exciting about your first race back – small and local sounds like a plan! And yay on B’s check up. He’s such a cutie!

I’m not enjoying the darker mornings either. I saw a bright beautiful moon and the sunrise on a run this week too. Kudos to you for getting it all done. Moms are the hardest working people ever. I’m glad you got a good report at B’s checkup. Good luck on your race next weekend.

  4. That is a tight morning schedule! I like to be up about 45 minutes before I run 🙂 guess I am a little slower moving! My pineapples and avocados are the only thing I did not kill this summer, I am looking forward to a fall garden- I hope! Enjoy that long weekend with the kids! Thanks for coffee!

  5. I have to be in the shower at 6am too in order to be out the door on time. It makes morning workouts really challenging. Great job getting in a few miles. YAY! That your son is almost done with his helmet, that’ll be so awesome. recently posted…September Ultimate Coffee DateMy Profile
