A Rare Kind of Day…

Yesterday I had a child free and work free day.  It’s pretty much unheard of but it worked out that B went to daycare since I kept him home on Monday.  One would think that on a day like yesterday I would have sat outside enjoying the sun and heat, shopped for MYSELF, caught up on Netflix and enjoyed but none of those things happened.  I kind of felt like I was on speed all day just making sure everything got done!

I did enjoy a two workout day with a 4 mile run and then followed it up with a very challenging hour at the barre!  My run, although a bit painful (more on that later) was a good chance for me hit pause for 30 minutes!

I haven’t been able to figure out how to fit Dailey Method into my schedule since school started and not being there for several weeks made the class even more challenging!  I also think I pulled a muscle or did something to my left thigh after the run on Sunday.  Not sure but it’s been giving me a hard time these last few days.

In between workouts there was laundry to be done, baby food to be made and Costco and Target errands.  Of course when you actually go to the store without kids it really can be that much more enjoyable!  I managed to escape Target with random purchases from their dollar bin!  Hey, that’s a win for me!

I managed to get some food prep for myself done for the weekend!  A tray of roasted veggies and of course a tray of sweet potatoes.

Those purple ones are Hawaiian Sweet Potatoes and they are AMAZING!!  They are soo creamy!!!  Great to add into my mix of other sweet potatoes.  Have you every seen them?  They are kind of a pain to peel since they are oddly shaped but well worth it!

I picked up the kids Passport pics and filled out our applications for our trip to Mexico this December.

Um, I just can’t get over B’s pic!!  I was giggling about it all afternoon!

The Hubs is gone this weekend so I am sure it will be another busy hectic one!  Thank goodness it won’t be super hot!

I’m actually thinking about making chili  or soup for next week!

What do you have on tap this weekend?

If you ever have a child free day is it filled with zillions of errands or do you find a balance for the To DO list and ME time?

Yay for a day on your own. I’m similar to you: the errands get done first. Those Hawaiian sweet potatoes sound amazing. I’ll have to look for them.
