A BRAND NEW LOOK! Races on the Calendars! Prepping for a new running season

First of all, I am thrilled to “unveil” and brand new look for my blog!  Many thanks to the fantastic Natasha at My Cute Lobster for working so hard with me to create the brand new look!  For all you bloggers out there I highly suggest Tasha!  She was so wonderful to work with!

I’m also excited to be a part of two great online blogger groups!

I'm Fit Possible

Looking forward to connecting with more great bloggers all over the world!

Ok so despite it only be in the 2nd half of January I’ve got spring fever.  Winter isn’t going anywhere anytime soon! We were reminded of that this weekend and last night when we got another few inches of snow.

Anyways…. I’m still loving my early morning treadmill runs.  Too assist in the strength training I am sticking with the barre classes at The Daily Method and shooting to attend class 2-3 days a week.  My classes there are in addition to my runs and are not a substitute for them to help me get stronger and increase my flexibility.

As I continue to aim for a stronger and injury free running season in 2014 Healthy Running Mom and I have signed up for 2 local 1/2 marathons!

Why so early?  Well it seems that all of these races have a price increase after  January 31st so we look at it as saving money!  I’m all set to run the North Shore 1/2 Marathon the first weekend in June and the Chicagoland Spring 1/2 Marathon in Schaumburg!  Love finding races that are out of the city!

We will see what else gets added to the race calendar!  Do you have anything on your race calendar for 2014?  To all my runners and racers out there, how do you stay strong to prevent injury?

Congrats on signing up for two more races too, I was in Chicago last September and there was a half mara going on. We went and cheered on some runners for a little while! Maybe you were there??? You are from Chicago, right?

The blog looks great! I feel like if you know you want to do the race you may as well sign up early to save money and make sure it doesn’t get sold out!

  5. Great blog! I am ready for Spring too! I have several races planned for Spring and then a handful in the fall! I raced all year long in 2013 so i’m gonna slow it down a bit this year. I have some Bigger races, but not as many!

Yay for half marathons! Good luck with your training! And I’m also loving barre exercises on my non-running days. I wrote all about Barre3 on my blog today because I’m seriously that obsessed. And welcome to the I’m Fit Possible community! I’m an ambassador too and I love it!
